Virginia Irene Headrick (nee Robins), 84, a longtime resident of Bridgeton died Friday morning at Rainbow Nursing Center in Pittsgrove Township where she had been a resident for the last year.

The widow of William Buford Headrick, who died in 1987, she was born in Section, Jackson County, Alabama and was the daughter of the late William Charley Robins and the late Adar (nee Woodall) Robins.

Mrs. Headrick moved to the Bridgeton area in the mid 1950s and for nearly ten years lived with her son before entering the nursing home.

She worked at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton in the packing department for thirty years before retiring in the mid 1980s.

In her later years Mrs. Headrick found her primary enjoyment in spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, David Headrick and his wife Mary of Bridgeton, Michael Headrick and his wife Chyrll of Pittsgrove and Jeffrey Headrick and his wife Michelle of Hamilton Twp., nine grandchildren, Haley and Kerry Headrick, Bryan and Mallory Headrick, Starr Mulford and her husband Rob and Austin and Zachary Headrick and Rob Riehl and Megan Condrat, three great grandchildren, Reece Mulford, Riley Headrick and Madison Condrat, one sister, Mildred Long of Dutton, AL and one brother, John D. Robins and his wife Betty of Rossville, GA.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Wednesday morning June 23rd at 11 o'clock.

The interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Township.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:30 until 11.
