Ronald H. Ryman Sr.
Lifelong Area Resident
Ronald H. Ryman Sr., 72, of Shiloh died suddenly and unexpectedly Wednesday evening at Cooper Hospital/University Medical Center in Camden.
The husband of Patricia A. (nee Hribar) Ryman, he was born March 15, 1937 in Philadelphia and was the son of the late Charles E. Ryman Sr. and the late Helen (nee Christiansen) Ryman Hall.
A lifelong area resident, Mr. Ryman was a graduate of Bridgeton High School in the class of 1955 and had lived at his current Shiloh address for many years.
He was employed at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Bridgeton for 28 years until it closed in 1984. He had the distinction of making the last glass bottle at the plant before Owens ceased production. Mr. Ryman later worked in a similar capacity at Wheaton Glass for nearly ten years before retiring.
Mr. Ryman was a fan of NASCAR and Jeff Gordon was his favorite driver. He was a huge sports fan and was also a member of the 5th Ward AA in Bridgeton. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.
He and his wife celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on December 30th.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Pamela L. Ryman of Shiloh, one son, Ronald H. Ryman Jr. and his wife Sharon of Shiloh, two grandsons, Ryan C. Ryman and his wife Ali of Hopewell Twp. and Andrew P. Ryman of Shiloh, one brother, Charles E. Ryman Jr. and his wife Edith of Cincinnati, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Ryman's funeral service at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Monday evening March 1st at 8 o'clock where friends will be received from 6 until 8.
Pastor David L. Strope of the West Park United Methodist Church will officiate.
The burial will take place privately at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Ryman's memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
