Lillian Pauline Motil (nee Barchanovitz)

Devoted Mother and Homemaker
 

Lillian Pauline Motil (nee Barchanovitz), 79, of Bridgeton went to sleep with the Lord Monday morning January 25, 2010 at SJ Regional Medical Center in Vineland.

The wife of the late Charles "Chuck" Motil Sr., who died in 2002, she was born in Orient, PA to the late Adam J. and Julianna (nee Martin) Barchanovitz and was raised in western Pennsylvania. She graduated from German Township High School in 1948. Mrs. Motil moved to Bridgeton in 1954 and was a Bridgeton resident since that time.

A homemaker, she was a devoted mother, who dedicated herself to raising her four sons. She was a volunteer at the former Bank Street School, where she served as a room mother and volunteer crossing guard. She also served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts.
Mrs. Motil was a volunteer with the Bridgeton Chapter of the American Red Cross. She had been a member of the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in New Salem, PA and later was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and the church Altar Guild. Most recently she attended West Park United Methodist Church.

She loved music and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. In the years prior to her marriage to Chuck, Lillian was an accomplished pianist and accordion player and sang in several big bands. Mrs. Motil was also an animal lover and especially enjoyed sitting on her back porch and watching the birds.

Survivors include four sons, Charles D. "Chuck" Motil and his wife Louise of Hopewell Twp., Michael J. Motil and his wife Sharon of Carmel, David R. Motil and his wife Lisa of Estell Manor and Mark Adam Motil and his fiancé Marilyn Dayton of Bridgeton, eight grandchildren, Keri Panichello, Michael R. Motil, Britney M. Motil, AshLeigh M. Motil, Lincoln D. Goldberg, Jennifer Caignon, Victoria Dayton and Michelle Wolf, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral which will begin at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning January 29th at 10:30 and will be followed by an 11 o'clock funeral service at the West Park United Methodist Church, 625 Shiloh Pike in Hopewell Township.

The interment will follow the church service at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.

Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 and again Friday morning from 9:30 until 10:30.

Memorial contributions are suggested in Mrs. Motil's memory to the American Heart Association, 2550 Rt. 1, New Brunswick, NJ 08902 or to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08304.
